Geoff
Ski instructor

Geoff has been teaching at Sandown on and off for 6 years. If it’s confidence you need, Geoff is your man! He’s great with small kids and nervous women, and will put your mind right at ease. He will help you build up those core skills and you’ll be whizzing down the slopes in no time! With a background in IT, skiing is Geoff’s guilty pleasure.

George
Ski instructor

George, 16 started learning how to ski as a child at Sandown, and has come up through our junior ski club, to now running it. He also does private lessons, as well as children’s parties, and is one of our helpers on our skywalk adventure attraction. He might be young but he’s mighty confident and knowledgeable, with a smile that will melt even the toughest of hearts.

Jenny
Ski instructor

With years of experience, Jenny has been skiing at Sandown since 1981, back when wooden skis and leather boots were still a thing. She even met her husband here- a living and breathing Sandown romance. She also teaches swimming and sailing, so is active to her core. Jenny runs the ladies ski mornings on a Wednesday at Sandown Sports.

Henry
Ski instructor

Henry, 26, works between Skywalk Adventure and Sandown Ski. A lover of the great outdoors, Henry is right at home on the ski slope. He has been skiing since he was 3, and has grown up going on family ski holidays. Having studied media production, he helps us with some of our visuals and technical elements.

Mike
Ski instructor

Working at sandown for over 30 years, Mike is pretty much a part of the furniture! He has the patience of a saint, and is trained to teach a variety of levels and abilities.He has experience teaching skiing to the handicapped and autistic, as well as race training. With an English and Italian qualification, his skiing knowledge spans over many areas.

Katie
Ski instructor

Katie, 25, has been skiing at Sandown for 10 years. She learnt to ski here at Junior Ski club, and after that we just couldn’t get rid of her! She works with the Race club that runs here at Sandown, and goes to various races with them, including the English races. She loves travelling and spent a part of 2017 skiing in New Zealand.

Sophie
Ski instructor

Sophie has been skiing since she was five, and pretty much lives on the ski slope. She teaches Junior Ski club as well as private lessons. Her whole family are skiiers, and her mum and dad met at Sandown, so it holds a special place in her heart. She is a generally very active person, and her other main hobby is unicycle hockey.

Ian
Ski instructor

Although Ian has only been at Sandown for 2 years, he’s been skiing for over 42 years! He started skiing on a dry slope in Northern Ireland and was hooked from day one. He was a keen racer and a member of the Ulster Ski team. He also spent several winters in the Alps working in France and Switzerland. He enjoys anything to do with the great outdoors and is a keen climber and sailor.

Toby
Ski instructor

Toby started skiing at the age of 9 at Sandown, and is now Basi level 2 qualified. At 12 years old he began racing with BSA, and was eventually selected for the U14 GB team, through to U18; as well as moving to Ambition Racing. He is passionate about lifting weights and enjoys cycling, meeting new people, and catching some sun.

Joanne
Ski instructor

Joanne started working at Sandown in November 2016. She learnt how to ski on a dry slope when she was nineteen, then had her first skiing holiday to Austria; and she’s been a keen skier ever since. since then, she has mostly skied in Switzerland. Her other interests and hobbies include walking, badminton and music.

Tom
Ski instructor

Tom, 18, is one of the newest members of the team. He has been skiing as long as he’s been walking, and it is ingrained in his lifestyle. He races cyclo-cross and trail running, and gets a rush from skiing at a fast pace in the mountains. Although Tom is a thrill-seeker, he also has a great brain on him, and is currently studying a Sports Science MSci.
